Gabriel de Freitas Ferreira (b. 1991 in São Paulo) draws from his multicultural upbringing to explore themes of satire, digital alienation, and subversive humor in a body of work that seamlessly blends commercial projects (branding, campaigns), public art installations, cultural engagement (publications, applications) and digital innovation. His practice interrogates the age-old adage that “design is not art” with virtual and physical pieces that claim the contrary. The artist, now based in Barcelona, would like to invite those who disagree for a wine-and-cheese tête-à-tête.
